Rates & Insurance
Do You Accept My Insurance?
Hopeology Wellness is considered “out-of-network” with all insurance providers. You still may be eligible to use your insurance indirectly for mental healthcare services.
Because our therapists are speciality providers who provide mental health care based in evidence and results, and not beholden to third party companies, we do not accept insurance directly. This means payment in full us due at the time of service. We will, upon request, submit to you an itemized receipt (a superbill) which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
If you see the terms PPO, POS, or out-of-network on your insurance card, you will likely be able to receive a percentage of the cost of services back in your pocket. If you see HMO, Medicare, or Medicaid on your card, then you probably do not have these benefits.
How do I know if I have “out-of-network” benefits?
At Hopeology Wellness, we want to balance the cost of therapy with the quality of care each of our clients receives. Therefore, we employ three levels of therapists with varying levels of education, credentials, licensure, and experience. Each level has its own price point and each therapist’s bio page clearly lists the costs for both 50 and 80 minute sessions.
Licensed Professional Counselors charge between $150-185 for a 50 minute session and $225-$280 for an 80 minute session
Associate Professional Counselors charge between $125-150 for a 50 minute session and $187.50-$225 for an 80 minute session
Master’s Level Clinicians typically charge $90 for a 50 minute session and $135 for an 80 minute session
Graduate Student Interns typically charge $75 for a 50 minute session and $115 for an 80 minute session
What is the Cost of Therapy at Hopeology Wellness?
Check Your Benefits Before You Start
Some insurance companies will not reimburse for pre-licensed clinicians (i.e., Master’s Level Clinicians and Graduate Student Interns). Make sure to check with your insurance provider to ensure the therapist you select will be covered based on his/her credentials.
You might be able to get reimbursed for out-of-network therapy! How can you find out if your policy includes out-of-network benefits?
Hopeology Wellness does not coordinate with insurance companies or third-party reimbursement services. You will need to contact your insurance company (call the number on the back of your card) and ask the following questions:
1. Does my policy include “out-of-network” benefits for mental healthcare?
2. If yes, ask how much do they cover. Oftentimes it is a percentage (like 75%) or a flat rate (like $150/session).
Once you have the answers to these questions, you will better understand what reimbursement will look like for your policy and can move forward with confidence.
Do You Offer a Sliding Scale or Discounted Appointments?
While some therapists may be able to provide a reduced rate for service, this decision is not made by your therapist. If you would like to request a reduced rate, please email admin AT hopeologywellness.com. While we are, from time to time, able to offer a reduced rate, please keep in mind it might be a better fit to consider a lower-tiered therapist who already offers a lower rate.
