What is Child Therapy?

Child therapy, also called child counseling or play therapy, is a specialized for of psychotherapy tailored to meet the unique developmental needs of children. We use play, art, storytelling, and age-appropriate talk therapy to help kids:

  • Process big emotions

  • Build health coping skills

  • Improve behavior and communication

  • Strengthen emotional resilience

  • Heal from trauma or loss

Children often express their thoughts through play, not words—so we meet them where they are with empathy, structure, and evidence-based strategies.
